My Favorite Haircut Ever!

One of the biggest regrets of my youth was holding myself back because I was fearful of what others might think of me. I was scared of failure and being rejected. I didn’t embrace being different and unique, instead I wanted to be just like everybody else.
We all want to fit in and be accepted, but I didn’t learn until my 30’s just how important it is to be ourselves. My patriarchal blessing says “If I were you, I wouldn’t worry what others think so much as what the Lord thinks, that is what really counts”. I have really worked on just being my best me, and pleasing the Lord, even if it means I am different. He didn’t want us all to be the same, and I think it is so important to shine in our own way. I blossomed when I decided I would let people see the real, crazy, different, and special me. My life became happier and more fulfilling on so many levels.
If I could give one piece of advice to my own kids and teenagers out there, it would be to just go for it. Try out for that play, sing out loud, have an opinion, stand up for truth, be different and be okay with it! Be you! Say yes to things that scare you and give yourself the opportunity to grow and change. Don’t worry what others think of you. Don’t wait until you are 30 to finally be okay with who you are. Heavenly Father made you exactly the way He needed you to be, embrace it and let yourself shine. You are amazing just the way you are!
